2:30pm to 4:00pm

Free event

If you are not careful, you could easily walk right past 140 Rue du Bac, thinking it is a shelter for homeless people in the heart of the 7th arrondissement.  However, once inside you will find yourself in a different world, one bustling with activity as the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is an important place of prayer and pilgrimage as well as the Mother House of the Daughters of Charity.  The sanctuary is also a place of extraordinary beauty and inspiration.  Come join us to see this hidden jewel and to learn more about its history as told by members of this very special community.

Our visit will start promptly at 2:30pm with a 20-minute film in English about St. Catherine Labouré, the Marion visionary and the miraculous medal followed by a short, lively video about the mission work of the Daughters of Charity.  Next we will hear first-hand from Sister Judith about her work and life.  A visit to the sanctuary will follow.  Some may also want to stop in the small shop.

After the hour-and-a-half visit, we will head to a nearby café or salon de thé to socialize….

This visit will be of interest to everyone and is suitable to all members of any religious/non-religious background.

Meeting place:

The meeting point is at 2:15pm, right at the entrance of the courtyard of the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal located at 140 Rue du Bac, Paris 75007. This is a short walk from métro: Sévres-Bablylone, lines 10 and 12.

Please note: Participants are asked to arrive at 2:15pm as the movie will start promptly at 2:30pm.

Visit coordinator: Wendy Dubreuil is a true Francophile, married to a French man. She holds a BA in French and a MA in International Communication from the SIS, American University Washington, DC with extensive international experience (i.e., UN).
