What a better place than the charming village of Auvers sur Oise to spend a Sunday in September and walk in the footsteps of Van Gogh.

Now is the time, as many events in celebration of the 125th  anniversary of the death of Vincent Van Gogh will soon come to an end.

The Itinerary:

08:30 AM Meeting venue in the 15th district to be announced upon registration, to drive together to Auvers-sur-Oise

Morning program -

A walking tour in the footsteps of Van Gogh through the Village to see the Auberge Ravoux called Van Gogh's residence, the Absinthe museum and more...

The next stop is the Castle of Auvers to view "Journey to the Time of the Impressionists” -- an interactive, multi-media show with touch screens displaying 500 works and much more. Here you will relive the 19th century Parisian world of the Impressionists from cabarets to Absinth parlors. Plus we will visit a special exhibition at the castle devoted to Van Gogh.

A late, leisurely lunch or a snack - your choosing - at Le Menera, a reasonably-priced Moroccan restaurant. There we will have a chance to catch up with each other after the summer months.

Then there will still be time to visit  the Auvers-sur-Oise church, the cemetery where Van Gogh and his brother Theo are buried, and the famous wheat fields with the crows where it is said Van Gogh committed suicide. To end on a happy note and honor Van Gogh’s memory, we will end with a Van Gogh quiz with Van Gogh prizes!

Then we will drive back together to Paris.
