At the bottom of the Champs-Elysées, close from Grand Palais and the most luxurious hotels, the Matignon Avenue area concentrates most of the biggest international and French auction houses in Paris (Artcurial, Christie's, Sohteby's...).

A few renowned contemporary art galleries have also chosen to locate there. During our visit, we’ll see hot artworks and furniture for sale in the galleries and in the auction houses. If you have questions about today’s unpredictable art market, we’ll be happy to comment and give you our art insider insights. A small walk to the monumental bucket of tulips close-by will be another occasion to express your opinion.

About the Instructor: Caroline Etter, art consultant, historian of art, and friend to both collectors and artists, has been immersed in the Paris art scene for 20 years. After graduating with a degree in 20th-century decorative arts from the Sorbonne, she started her career working at the Villa Médicis in Rome and the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Since then she’s been a curator, a journalist and a gallery manager. She has created her own company helping private as well as corporate clients understand and buy contemporary art.
