A comprehensive exhibit of Chaim Soutine’s portraits and landscapes will be at the Orangerie this season. His paintings take you into the sinuously textured and jewelPainting at WICE colored world of the fauves and his fellow Russian emigrant painters from Montparnasse.

It was Marc Chagall who said that to go to the Louvre was to “open the Bible or Shakespeare”. And surprise! Jean Fouquet’s 15th century portrait of Charles VII may be the inspiration for Soutine’s Le Chasseur de Chez Maxime’s.

The winter session starts with a portrait inspired by the work of Soutine or another artist of your choice.

Both beginners and practiced painters are welcome.

Instructor: Jan Olsson holds a Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and is an engaging teacher with many years of experience teaching. She is also a highly skilled practicing artist who exhibits internationally. See the artist's website at http://janolssonart.com for more information
