Geometric shapes, pure and dynamic: the Art Deco style (1919-1940) is characterized by its attractiveness and vivacity. Born from the impetus of French designers such as the architect Sauvage, Mallet-Stevens, Patou, designers Vera, Ruhlmann, the couturier Paul Poiret and the sculptor François Pompon, it is the fruit of an overall vision from various artistic fields.

The exhibition is the first since 1975 to pay tribute to this aesthetic Art Deco style which has united the world's designers. This benchmark retrospective addresses the International Exposition of 1925 and the global spread of this popular style. Initially it examines the distinction between Art Nouveau and Art Deco, identifying both styles for the public.

Don’t miss this amazing and instructive guided visit about Art Déco style at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine.
