A controversial topic is up for debate at WICE World Watch's new lecture: Is Gun Culture out of Control?

Speakers Alexander Blumrosen, Chair, Study Group on Gun Violence, Democrats Abroad and Tom McGrath, Chairman, Republicans Abroad, Paris will discuss how deep gun culture has permeated society and address the following questions:

1. How do you sum up the chances that any legislation will get passed during President Obama's remaining term in office?

2. How do you think America's 2014 congressional elections will affect gun legislation?

3. Will the Obama Administration deliver on the proposed $50 million funding in FY 2014 to help states share information and records on individual with a criminal history and the mentally ill, to bar them from gun ownership?

4. Is there a national gun safety campaign planned in 2014 to encourage responsible gun ownership and have the Consumer Product Safety Commission examine issues relating to safety locks?

Participants will leave with an understanding of the role guns play in our consciousness and in reality and where that role may take us in the future in terms of policy and regulations.
