The Romantic Parc Bagatelle

Wednesday, June 11th

Located in the Bois de Boulogne, the Parc de Bagatelle was built in the 18th century. It is furnished in period and style pieces beautifully recreating the atmosphere enjoyed by the lucky few prior to the French Revolution. During the 19th century the gardens were extended and today they represent a variety of garden styles and designs with geometrical French parterres, English bedding schemes, cascades, ponds and streams. The botanical collections include both herbaceous and tree peonies, irises and water lilies, as well as the world famous rose gardens. Over 10,000 roses are displayed throughout this 60 acre park which has played host every June since 1907 to the International Competition for New Roses, judging and celebrating the latest creations of this amazing flower.

Come and discover this romantic garden with our guide which attracts visitors from all over the world!

Instructor: Amy Kupec-Larue moved to Paris in 1989 and began giving garden tours in 2006. She is now a permanent member of the jury for the Bagatelle Rose Competition and also enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for the plant world.
